The X-Tract’s claim to fame is that it is a true OHO (One Hand Opening) multitool. There’s nothing unusual about tools that provide OHO blades, but the X-Tract allows all of it’s tools to be accessed single handed, by using some very innovative design.
Although the liner-locking blade (and what a blade!) and the can-opener are opened in the conventional way using a thumb stud, the other tools all “slide” along the length of the tool before locking into position. A clever button locking mechanism gives a solid lock-up for pliers, Phillips driver and flat driver.
With an angled lanyard loop / glassbreaker on the heel, the Buck X-Tract is a very capable multi-tool, although it would definitely benefit from some sort of pocket clip!
