The Spirit is the smaller of Victorinox’s plier based multitools and is available in several variations. At the time of writing I have only one, in black oxide finish. Fans of the Spirit wax lyrical about the quality and “fit and finish” of the tool, and there’s no denying that it is extremely well put together. (more)….
Like Victorinox’s more famous multitool, the Swiss Army Knife, opening and closing the handle tools and deployment of the pliers provides an audible, satisfying “snap” due to back spring tension that the other leading manufacturers don’t have. The other distinctive feature of the Spirit is the curve in the handles, which I guess is intended to improve ergonomics. In practice, this precision in the build does not offer any obvious benefits in use, but it is rather nice!
